Fine Art Prints Presented Behind Clear Acrylic
Create a finished piece of wall art from your photographs or artwork with our Acrylic Face-Mounted Prints. Your image is printed on Hahnemühle 240 gsm acid-free matte fine art paper using an Epson SureColor P9580 and genuine Epson pigment inks.
The printed face is bonded to the back of 1.5 mm clear acrylic with optically clear adhesive. A 4 mm aluminium composite backing panel and concealed aluminium hanging system complete the frameless presentation.
What Is an Acrylic Face-Mounted Print?
Face mounting brings a paper print and clear acrylic together in one finished panel. We first print your image on the fine art paper, then use optically clear face-mounting adhesive to bond the image side directly to the rear of the acrylic. You view the artwork through the clear front sheet.
This process combines the image detail of a paper-based pigment print with the smooth surface of acrylic. The backing panel supports the assembled print, while the recessed hanging frame gives it a floating appearance on the wall.
Paper finish and surface finish
The Hahnemühle paper has a matte finish. The clear acrylic face gives the completed artwork a glossy, reflective surface. Consider nearby windows and lights when choosing where to display it.

Paper and pigment
Epson SureColor P9580 12-Colour Fine Art Printing
We use genuine Epson pigment inks to reproduce the colour, fine detail and tonal transitions in your file. The 12-colour printing system is designed for professional photographic and fine art output.
Hahnemühle 240 gsm Matte Fine Art Paper
Your image is printed on acid-free Hahnemühle fine art paper before face mounting. This paper-based print forms the image layer within the finished panel, bringing an established fine art medium to a contemporary acrylic presentation.
Landscapes, portraits, monochrome photography, illustrations and digital artwork can all be prepared for this format. For artwork with subtle colour or important shadow detail, send us your file for an image check before choosing a size.
Frameless Artwork with Concealed Hanging
The 4 mm aluminium composite backing gives the print a rigid support. The aluminium hanging frame sits behind the panel, keeping the front presentation focused on the image and creating space between the artwork and the wall.
Your print is supplied with the rear hanging system fitted. Choose wall fixings suitable for your wall material and the finished artwork weight. If you are planning a larger piece or a coordinated installation, ask us for the hanging details and finished dimensions before ordering.
This display style suits contemporary homes, offices, photography exhibitions and gallery installations where a clean, frameless presentation complements the work.

Choose a Size That Fits Your Image and Your Wall
Start with the shape of your original image, then choose a size for the space. A square crop suits a centred composition. Rectangular sizes give you portrait and landscape options for people, scenery and wider artwork.
| Square | 30 × 30 cm · 40 × 40 cm · 50 × 50 cm · 60 × 60 cm |
|---|---|
| Rectangle | 40 × 50 cm · 40 × 60 cm · 45 × 60 cm · 50 × 60 cm · 50 × 70 cm · 60 × 80 cm · 60 × 90 cm |
| Orientation | Select Portrait or Landscape for rectangular prints to match your image. |
| Another size | Request a custom-size quote with your desired width and height, image file, quantity and NZ delivery postcode. |
Check the current sizes and NZD prices when setting up your design. If retaining the full image is important, check the aspect ratio and crop in the editor before ordering.
Prepare Your Photo or Artwork
Start with the Original File
Use your original high-resolution photo or artwork export. Fine details are easier to reproduce from a clear source file than from a screenshot or a compressed copy shared through a messaging app.
Check the Crop and Detail
Match the image proportions to the selected print size. Keep faces, signatures and important details within the preview area. For close viewing, aim for approximately 300 pixels per inch at the finished size.
Ask for an Image Check
Send your file and intended dimensions if you are unsure about resolution or layout. Large files can be shared using Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive through our contact page.
For reference, a 40 × 60 cm print at 300 ppi needs approximately 4,724 × 7,087 pixels. Files with fewer pixels may still suit larger artwork viewed from farther away. We can assess your image for its intended size.

Display and Care
Choose a dry indoor wall, away from prolonged direct sunlight, strong heat and persistent moisture. View the intended position at different times of day to see where windows and lighting may reflect on the acrylic.
Support the panel when handling it and use a clean, soft, slightly damp cloth to gently remove dust. Use cleaners intended for acrylic and avoid abrasive cloths, alcohol, solvents and household glass cleaners. Keep liquid away from the edges and backing.
Acrylic Face-Mounted Prints FAQ
Details to help you choose the right finish, prepare your image and plan your order.
Where is my image printed?
Your image is printed on Hahnemühle 240 gsm matte, acid-free fine art paper using an Epson SureColor P9580 and genuine Epson pigment inks. The image side is then face-mounted to the back of clear acrylic using optically clear adhesive.
What thickness is the acrylic?
This product has a 1.5 mm acrylic face and a 4 mm aluminium composite backing panel. The paper, adhesive and rear hanging frame are additional parts of the finished assembly. If your project specifies another acrylic thickness, contact us for availability and a separate quote.
Will the finished print look matte or glossy?
The paper inside is matte, while the clear acrylic front creates a glossy, reflective surface. The lighting and viewing angle in your room will affect visible reflections. Contact us before ordering if your project requires a particular surface finish.
Is the hanging system included?
The print is supplied with a concealed aluminium hanging system fitted to the back. Wall fixings should be selected for your wall material and artwork weight. Ask us for the mounting details if you are planning an installation.
Can I order a custom size or several artworks?
Send your preferred width and height in centimetres, the image file, quantity and NZ delivery postcode through our contact page. For a series or exhibition, include the dimensions of each piece and your required date so we can assess the full request.
Will my image need to be cropped?
Cropping depends on the proportions of your original file and the print size you select. Check the layout in the online editor. If you need the complete composition retained, send us the file before ordering so we can help choose an appropriate size.
Will the printed colours match my screen?
Screen brightness, display settings and room lighting can affect how you see an image. Pigment ink on paper, viewed through acrylic, has a different appearance from a backlit screen. For artwork with critical colour requirements, contact us before placing a larger order.
Can you face-mount a paper print I already own?
This listing is for a print produced from your digital file and finished as a face-mounted panel. If you have an existing physical print, contact us with its paper type, dimensions and condition so we can assess whether a separate mounting service is available.
How long will production and NZ delivery take?
These prints are made to order. Contact us for the current production and delivery estimate for your size and postcode, particularly for an exhibition or other time-sensitive project. Share your required date before ordering so we can check the schedule.
How does this compare with direct printing on acrylic?
Face mounting uses a separate fine art paper print bonded behind clear acrylic. Direct acrylic printing applies the image to the acrylic itself. If you are comparing the two processes, view our Digital Acrylic Printing product or ask us which option suits your artwork and display requirements.
